Following Doc Edge Festival 2023, we continue with a August special event featuring ‘EXPOSURE’ film, director Holly Morris with Q&As in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch
Doc Edge, the renowned international documentary film festival, is excited to announce a special event taking place in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington. While the extended Doc Edge festival continues nationwide on the Virtual Cinema until Sunday, 16 July, its commitment to providing exceptional documentary experiences extends beyond the festival period. Throughout the year, Doc Edge will continue to present a series of unique events that can be enjoyed either in-person, online, or through a combination of both.
In August, Doc Edge is delighted to offer a special event featuring the film ‘Exposure‘ along with exclusive Q&A sessions with director Holly Morris. The event will also include a free virtual reality experience. This exclusive event will be held in August in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington.
For two decades, director Morris has been dedicated to sharing and championing empowering stories about women on the global stage. As an internationally recognised filmmaker, author, and presenter of acclaimed works like ‘Adventure Divas’ and ‘Globe Trekker,’ Morris brings a wealth of expertise and perspective to her projects.
In ‘Exposure,’ director Morris and an all-women film crew embark on an audacious expedition to the North Pole, facing the dangers of a melting polar ice cap. The film follows their two-year training journey and showcases their resilience in navigating open leads of water, polar bear threats, and chilling temperatures. Director Morris will be present at all three screenings to engage in insightful discussions with the audience.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to experience a Virtual Reality short, ‘Exposure 360°’, before the screening, allowing them to immerse themselves in a once-in-a-lifetime expedition to the North Pole. Imagine the crunch of your skis on the thin crust of the melting polar ice cap, the howling of Arctic winds, and the awe-inspiring vistas of snow and sky surrounding you from all sides.
