Doc Edge is excited to bring to Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, another year of Doc Edge Industry events.

As an Oscar® qualifying international documentary festival, Doc Edge is acclaimed for its groundbreaking and bold curation of documentary films. In 2024, Doc Edge launched itself as the Asia-Pacific centre for all things documentary. This is an exciting and strategic move for the Asia-Pacific documentary sector, providing the world with a gateway to the home for Asia-Pacific documentary filmmakers and content.

We are pleased to announce our first keynote speaker and Doc Edge Superhero Ruby Chen, as well as esteemed international guests Courtney Sexton and Ryan Harrington.

PITCH

30 June - 1 July

Doc Edge Pitch offers filmmakers a premier pitching opportunity, connecting participants with local and international decision-makers. Finalists are provided with mentorship workshops, a chance to win prizes, and access to international festivals and markets.

FORUM

2 - 3 July

A platform for emerging and established storytellers to gather, exchange ideas, and advance their careers.

Our mission is to inspire filmmakers and screen practitioners to push boundaries and take risks to go where no one else has gone.

AWARDS

3 July

An evening of acknowledgement and celebration of the vital work of exceptional filmmakers who tell stories from our backyard and around the world. Award winners for Best International and NZ films will automatically be shortlisted for Oscar Academy Awards®

NETWORKING

30 June - 3 July

During the industry events, we will host a range of networking opportunities over food & drinks for meaningful connections—whether to meet and greet, celebrate achievements, share insights, or foster valuable new and existing partnerships going forward.
