Far from the mainland and mainstream consciousness, in a region ridden with uncertainties, Tora is a quaint village on the Indian–Myanmar border with bad roads, erratic transport service, a dysfunctional school, no hospital, no power supply, no mobile network, and no job opportunities. But that is about to change. Soon, the town will have electricity.
People are sceptical as they have been let down too often in the past. A woman dreams of a better future for her family. A century-old man dreams of sovereignty for his people. Life flickers between hope and frustration, idealism and pragmatism, as a village waits. Will progress deliver all it has promised to Tora?
