Purpose of Role
  • Producer the Hybrid Edition of the Doc Edge Festival – Accountable for delivering the hybrid edition of the Doc Edge Festival in Auckland and Wellington including its associated activities: the schools programme, opening and closing nights, the awards, exhibition and other events.

 

Key Accountabilities

Producer the Hybrid Edition of the Doc Edge Festival
  • Produce the Hybrid 2021 Festival and its associated events including curating events that will enhance the festival programme
  • Provide assistance and support to the Directors regarding all aspects of the festival
  • Liaise and collaborate with film makers, festival venue contacts, caterers, suppliers, partners and stakeholders, ensuring that timely communication supports the understanding of expectations for all parties, and the delivery of events which meet the intended brief
  • Coordinate hospitality events for partners ensuring that they are meet required expectations and standards
  • Manage all event and production contractual requirements mitigating any risk for Doc Edge
  • Publish and promote relevant information in all appropriate channels, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and work with staff and interns in relation to promotion, marketing, publicity and joint activities
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and compelling funding applications
  • Maintain existing partnership channels and actively develop new partnership channels
  • Prepare written and oral reports relating to designated projects and activity as required
  • Manage all visiting guests’ welcome packs, travel, accommodation and itineraries
  • Oversee festival ticketing and box-office operations
  • Review and present post-festival research, analysis and reports; delivering information accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Doc Edge and a personal commitment to its goals and objectives
  • Assist with other tasks as may be allocated by the Directors

 

Health and Safety
  • Meet obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 including supporting active participation in health and safety systems; and, taking steps so far as is reasonably practical to ensuring a health and safe working environment.

 

Person Specification

Experience
  • Experience within an events role for a minimum of 5 years
  • Project management/production and marketing experience
  • Experience working in the live event and/or festival environment
  • Experience with venue operations and ticketing
  • Knowledge or love for documentary and storytelling
  • Strong administration experience

 

Skills
  • Ability to develop and execute event plans
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage others to perform their roles optimally
  • Effective working in a team environment
  • High level of confidence in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent research, analytical and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in event management would be an advantage

  • Recruit and coordinate the activities of interns and volunteers to support in the delivery of festival related responsibilities; and, manage the festival venue hub
  • Prepare written and oral reports relating to designated projects and activity as required
  • Manage all visiting guests’ welcome packs, travel, accommodation and itineraries
  • Maintain the database of film submission, selection process and print traffic, ensuring that the content is current and accurate at all times
  • Assist with festival ticketing and box-office operations

Purpose of Role
  • Delivery of Industry Events – Working in conjunction with the Industry Producer, delivering industry events within agreed scope, budget, standard expectations and timeframes.

 

Key Accountabilities

Delivery of Industry Events
  • Coordination of all designed Doc Edge industry events and activities including but not limited to Forum, Pitch, Clinics, Rough Cuts, Marketplace and Good Pitch Aotearoa NZ
  • Provide assistance and support to the Industry Producer and Directors regarding all aspects of the industry programmes
  • With the Industry Producer deliver a programme of events which increases participation and engagement
  • Liaise and collaborate with partners and stakeholders, ensuring that timely communication supports the understanding of expectations of all parties, and the delivery of successful events which meet the intended briefs
  • Recruit and coordinate the activities of interns and volunteers, enabling each event to be adequately resourced with appropriately skilled team members
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and compelling funding applications
  • Maintain existing partnership channels and actively develop new partnership channels, under the direction of the Industry Producer
  • Prepare written and oral reports relating to designated projects and activity as required

  • Promote Doc Edge Festival Resulting in a Successful Festival – Working in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, actively promote Doc Edge Festival and its associated activities including the schools programme.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordination of all designed Doc Edge Festival events and activities including the schools programme
  • Provide assistance and support to the Marketing Manager and Directors regarding all aspects of marketing support
  • Liaise and collaborate with partners and stakeholders, ensuring that timely communication supports the understanding of expectations for all parties, and the delivery of marketing activity which meets the intended brief
  • Recruit and coordinate the activities of interns and volunteers to support in the delivery of marketing related responsibilities
  • Maximise partner marketing channels, under the direction of the Marketing Manager
  • Coordinate communication, sponsorship and outreach opportunities with partners to ensure the success of Doc Edge Festival, working effectively and within expected timeframes
  • Prepare written and oral reports relating to designated projects and activity as required
  • Manage the marketing calendar ensuring that the details are up to date, accurate at all times and effectively communicated
