What is Doc Edge Virtual Cinema?
Doc Edge Virtual Cinema is an online video streaming platform, much like Netflix or Amazon. It will host all 79 films from Doc Edge Festival 2025
When can I stream and watch films?
All films will only be open to stream online starting from 28 July until 24 August for four weeks. We encourage you to pre-purchase film tickets or passes in advance.
Why is it limited to NZ only?
All films are geo-blocked for New Zealand only. In other words, only those within New Zealand can stream and watch online.
This is due to copyright and licensing agreements, with distribution rights on a region-by-region basis. The Festival does not own the rights to the films.
Can I watch the films multiple times during the 4 weeks period?
You can start watching a film anytime during the four weeks period. However, once a film session has started, a 48-hour window is open to complete watching the film. Once that closes, you can’t watch the film again.
How do I prebook tickets?
