Doc Edge Welcomes New Festival Producer: Hunter Weeks
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Hunter Weeks as Producer for the Doc Edge Festival.
Hunter brings a rare blend of filmmaking, event production, and partnership development experience. He has produced eight feature documentaries, including five released on Netflix, and was behind the first feature‑length documentary ever distributed on YouTube (10 MPH). He has produced several multi‑city film screening events across the United States and New Zealand, managing everything from venues and technical delivery to audience engagement and filmmaker Q&As.
Hunter has also held senior roles in the tech and creative sectors — including at Oracle, Microsoft‑aligned agencies, and major US creative studios — and is an Edmund Hillary Fellow, contributing to New Zealand’s innovation ecosystem.
Hunter says:
“Doc Edge is shaping the documentary landscape in Aotearoa and the Asia Pacific region. I’m thrilled to join the team and help deliver a festival that uplifts filmmakers, inspires audiences, and pushes the boundaries of documentary storytelling.”
Doc Edge Co‑Founder & Director Alex Lee adds:
“Hunter’s unique background — spanning documentary production, film touring, technology, and partnerships — makes him an exceptional addition to our team. We are excited for the fresh energy and global perspective he brings as we prepare the next edition of Doc Edge.”
We warmly welcome Hunter to the Doc Edge whānau.
