DOC EDGE SCHOOLS

Doc Edge Schools’ kaupapa (mission) is to bring eye-opening and thought-provoking educational documentaries that showcase a diverse range of perspectives to students in Years 5 – tertiary level.

Each year Doc Edge Schools hosts screenings and live filmmaker Q&As for classes in Auckland and Wellington during the Doc Edge Festival. Since 2020, we expanded to nationwide online screenings so all schools and tertiary organisations around Aotearoa could enjoy.

This year, a new Virtual Classroom platform was launched to provide educators across the country with festival-quality films throughout the school year. Teachers can sign up now and get the almost too-good to be true discount code which lasts until the end of 2022.

Submissions are not open for the 2023 Student Short Doco Competition!

THE VIRTUAL CLASSROOM

The Virtual Classroom is the home for documentaries that inspire, educate and explore.

A collection of incredible films is curated year-round for educators to use to supplement their lesson plans. Through the Virtual Classroom Pass, educators can choose films that closely align with the New Zealand curriculum, and make use of the accompanying education kits.
