Good Pitch connects the world’s best social justice
films with new allies and partners.
MAKES GOOD FILMS GO FURTHER
Conceptualised by Doc Society and Sundance Documentary Institute, Good Pitch brings together documentary filmmakers with foundations, NGOs, campaigners, philanthropists, policy makers, brands and media to mobilise social and environmental initiatives. This aims to forge coalitions and campaigns that are good for all these partners, good for the films and good for society.
Since 2008, Good Pitch has spread across the world. From 2014, more than $14 million has been raised in philanthropic grants for the funding of 19 social impact documentaries and their impact campaigns, forging priceless pro bono support and 300+ powerful strategic partnerships.
Comprising regional and local events, Good Pitch upskills filmmakers with important skills including impact producing. It also provides a platform to pitch and seek support for their films.
Our region stretches from New Zealand across Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia to Guam and Hawaii. Doc Edge has led the development of an alliance of Pacific nations committed to Good Pitch, facilitating great impactful stories from our filmmakers to travel around the world. We are pleased to see Good Pitch Local now taking off in Hawaii and Tahiti. In late 2020/early 2021, Good Pitch Aoteaora New Zealand will be held.
