from New Zealand and around the world.
Docs 4 Schools engages students with current issues, vital ideas, critical questions and new perspectives helping inspire and enrich their learning. It includes an In-theatre and an In-schools’ pilot programme. For more information, contact Docs 4 Schools Manager, Louise Ryan.

Doc Edge Student Documentary Film Competition
Submissions are open for the Doc Edge Student Short Documentary Film competition!
Students enrolled in a NZ school or tertiary institute are welcome to enter their documentaries. These might be films made as part of their course work for their tertiary institute, as part of an NCEA assessment, or as a class or passion project. Films need to have been made between 1st January 2018 – 31st December 2018.
Primary/Intermediate (students up to Year 8) – up to 15 minutes in duration.
Secondary (students in Years 9-13) – up to 15 minutes in duration.
Tertiary (Students enrolled in tertiary study) – up to 40 minutes in duration.
Each category has a prize package of $1000.

You must have the right to use all interviews and materials in your documentary. This might include anyone in your films to sign a release form (and if they are under 18 years they will need to get their parents/caregivers to sign as well).
2018 In-Theatre Programme
Our In-Theatre Programme provides free screenings of New Zealand and international documentary films covering a range of themes carefully selected to interest students, year 5 to Tertiary and to support the New Zealand School Curriculum. Classroom resources are developed and provided for each film.
