Making Good Men

Making Good Men

New Zealand | 2016 | 46 min | English | Fiona Apanui-Kupenga

Chilling sketches emerge after 30 years of reflection between a kiwi rugby icon bully and the bullied. The Bully, former All Black, Norm Hewitt, and his victim, television actor Manu Bennett, often thought about each other; about their time at boarding school. Manu experienced terror at the fists of Norm. Throughout the lives they both went on to live. They often wondered, independently, what they would say if they ever met.

The film documents this chance meeting and the wider impact it’s had on their families. Revelations occur through brutal honesty.

Screening with: After Life.

*Director Fiona Apanui-Kupenga will attend the Wellington Festival. A Q&A will follow the screenings.
