All pre-purchased tickets can be collected from Q Box Office during opening hours:
Monday – Friday 10am to 6pm or until final session start time.
Saturday – Sunday 90 minutes before first session until final session start time.

We recommend tickets be picked up at least 20 minutes prior to the start of a session. No exchanges or refunds.

Q LOUNGE / CITIZEN Q 305 Queens Street

Located in the centre of Auckland’s performing arts precinct, Q Lounge is the perfect social space for pre- and post-documentary screening drinks and canape’s, or a full dining experience. Q Lounge also hosts the Documentary Edge Festival information hub – a popular spot to meet filmmakers and have a chat with the Festival team. Q Theatre’s cafe’ and restaurant, Citizen Q, is open from 8am on weekdays and 90 minutes before the first screening on weekends. To reserve a table, call (09) 282 4402 or email

FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN THE THEATRE
During the Festival, food and beverages purchased from Citizen Q may be taken inside the theatre spaces with due consideration of other audience members.

PARKING
Please note that Q Theatre does not have a car park but there are plenty within close proximity. The Civic car park, Greys Avenue Tournament and Rendezvous Hotel parking are all within walking distance (approximately 400 metres) of Q Theatre.

ACCESSIBILITY
Wheelchair spaces and a hearing loop are available. Should you require use of these facilities, please notify Q staff at the time of booking, and they can then ensure you are appropriately provided for. There is a pick up and drop off bay immediately in front of the Queen Street entrance. All of Q Theatre’s spaces have lift access.

AUDIO / VIDEO RECORDING AND PHOTOS
Audio / Video recording and taking of photos at screenings are strictly prohibited except for Festival official personnel or unless prior consent is granted by the Festival.

MOBILE PHONES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES
To ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience; please turn off all electronic devices prior to a screening. If you must keep your phone turned on, please place it on silent. Also remember that light from your phone may be distracting to others.

SCREENINGS AT Q THEATRE
Festival films will be screened in two spaces at Q Theatre.

Rangatira: located on the Ground Floor.
Loft: located on Level 2.

Unallocated seating applies to most sessions. Screenings will start as scheduled, so please allow sufficient time for travel, parking, dining, ticket collection and pre-screening activities.

Latecomers will not be permitted entry once a screening has started.

* All films not in English will screen with English language subtitles.
